Resident-driven Activities

Staying active and involved at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility is an important part of resident health and well-being. Our three full-time activities staff provide activities programming that is as unique as our residents, reflecting their interests and abilities, and promoting mental, physical and spiritual wellness. Our resident council represents resident interests and makes recommendations regarding activities and other community events.

Our schedule of activities includes:

  • Creative exercise classes
  • Trivia and brain games
  • Card games and Bingo
  • Discussion groups
  • Crafts
  • Music and sing-alongs
  • Movies
  • Current events
  • Religious services
  • Live entertainment
  • Ice cream socials
  • Take-out Tuesdays
  • Pet therapy
  • Intergenerational programming
  • Outings to local restaurants and shopping

Throughout the year our activities team finds fun ways to celebrate special occasions. Local children come trick-or-treat, so residents can hand out candy and reconnect with a lifelong tradition. At Valentine’s Day, a special couples luncheon honors the bond between residents and their spouses. And everyone gets involved in preparing for our National Nursing Home Week celebration that kicks off on Mother’s Day.
